Nordic energy engineering

Gas in.
Power, heat and biomethane out.

Avan Teknik specifies, supplies and services biogas equipment across the Nordic region — as an independent technical advisor to authorities and industry, and as the Nordic partner for international suppliers.

The whole chain

From a pile of substrate to power on the grid.

Five steps. We work with all of them — and the colour of each step follows that stream through the rest of this page.

  1. 01

    Feedstock

Manure, food waste, crop residues. What goes in decides everything that comes after it.

  2. 02

    Digester

Bacteria break the substrate down without oxygen, at a held temperature, over several weeks.

  3. 03

    Raw biogas

Mostly methane and carbon dioxide, plus water and traces that have to be taken out.

  4. 04

    Engine or upgrading

Burn it in a CHP engine, or clean it to biomethane. Two different plants, one decision.

  5. 05

    Power, heat, fuel

Electricity and heat from the engine. Grid gas or vehicle fuel from the upgrading unit.

What we supply

Engines, plant, upgrading.

Four lines, one discipline. We represent the suppliers, commission the equipment, and keep it running afterwards.

Gas engines

Combined heat and power units sized for biogas. We represent the suppliers, commission the units on site, and hand over a plant that runs.

Upgrading

Raw gas to biomethane

Upgrading to grid or vehicle fuel quality. Ask for the figures on the configuration you plan — we give them with the test conditions behind them.

Service

Spare parts and uptime

Parts, planned maintenance and technical support for the equipment we deliver. An engine that stops on a Friday is our problem too.

Process

Where we come in.

Step 01

Feasibility

Substrate, siting and permits. What the plant can realistically deliver, and whether it should be built at all.

Step 02

Procurement

Specification, tender review and supplier assessment, with the trade-offs written down.

Step 03

Commissioning

Installation oversight, start-up and performance verification against what was promised.

Step 04

Service

Spares, planned maintenance and the technical support that keeps the plant producing.

Independent review

Two roles, kept separate on purpose.

When we review someone else's plant, we have no equipment interest in the outcome. When we sell equipment, we say so plainly. The two never run on the same project without the client knowing.

Consultancy

Feasibility, specification and verification for authorities and industry. Paid for the judgement, not the hardware.

Representation

Nordic partner and service organisation for international suppliers. Paid for the hardware, and for keeping it running.

Feedstock, capacity and what you want out of the gas. That is enough for a first answer. Book a time, or write to us.

Three lines are enough to start: the feedstock, the capacity you are planning for, and what you want out of the gas.
